First up is the absolutely lush Watch This Liquid Pour Itself by Okay Kaya. This Norwegian New Yorker’s latest album is a gorgeous, chilled mixture of pop, jazz and indie, with some beautifully acerbic lyrics throughout. Personal favourites are Insert Generic Name, which is such an amazingly sarcastic breakup song that must’ve reduced the person who inspired it to a puddle of nothing. For those wanting more when they’re done with the album, head to Spotify and dive into her cover of Believe. Who knew the raw emotion of Cher’s banger could be laid so bare.

For this month we’ve chosen another sultry indie-pop goddess, in Welsh act Rosehip Teahouse’s Growth. I had the pleasure of sharing a stage with the band a few years ago and I was blown away by Faye’s emotive, fragile-yet-strong voice. It’s the best kind of dream-indie-pop you’ll likely come across. Also, the b-side Same Sky is a 90s-tinged indie-pop banger.
