Dear Wax and Stampers,

Well, it’s hot here. Really hot. I’m currently writing this with a cold beer and an ice pop with my back next to the fridge, having just come back from checking out the Independent Label Market on Carnaby Street. If you’re in the UK, make sure you check them out for great vinyl related events across the country.

Now, on to the vinyl:

Our album this month is one of my favourite recent purchases. It has been on rotation regularly since I got it a few weeks ago, so I was really excited to be able to get my hands on enough copies to send out to you all, and in it’s beautiful picture disc format as an added bonus! Goat has a great history as a musical collective from Korpilombolo, a small Swedish village, where people have been playing under the moniker for decades. A unique blend of psych, fuzz, post punk and other influences, this album is an absolute banger. My favourite track is either “Goatman" or “Run to Your Mama,” but frankly the entirety of “World Music” is awesome.

As for the 12” - up until now I’ve shied away from drum n’ bass/jungle music when it has been my turn to pick, but when I heard this release on Bristol’s Sneaker Social Club label, I knew it was time. A great mix of abstract electronica with a couple of dn’b tracks including “Atlantis,” a proper slice of the old school, this EP has something for most people who love a bit of bassy electronic music. Turn this one up loud and apologise to the neighbours later!
